Today I am sharing one of my favorite street taco recipes, Breakfast Tacos wrapped in Southern comfort. This recipe comes from one of my favorite breakfast and brunch restaurants. Located across the street from the Georgia Aquarium is an unassuming southern restaurant nestled between two nondescript buildings. You cannot miss it just look for the long line of hungry customers waiting for a seat.

What makes Atlanta Breakfast Club special?

As soon as I walked in the door and saw these tacos on almost every plate I passed, I knew exactly what I wanted. “I’ll have what she’s having!” Made with fresh ingredients and served with a house syrup that all but dances in your mouth.

Atlanta Breakfast Club provides it’s guest with more than just Great Food and Great Service, it also provides a great experience. The food wraps you in a comfortable much loved Southern hug. If you are in Atlanta and looking for a great breakfast this is the place to be. They also serve lunch, but I have only gone for the breakfast. Here is my best at home interpretation of Chef Anthony’s creation.

Ingredients
  • 6 flour tortillas, street taco size
  • 8 eggs, divided
  • 1/4 – 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 slices bacon, fried
  • Maple Syrup
  • Green onion, sliced
Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl crack 4 eggs and add the heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and allspice. Whisk vigorously to blend.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium skillet. Crack 4 eggs into the skillet and start breaking about the eggs with a wooden spoon. Keep moving until you have soft curdles of eggs. Remove form heat.
  3. Heat a griddle. Dip the tortillas in the French toast batter giving them a solid coating. Shake off excess batter and fry on the griddle for 2-4 minutes. Flip and grill on the other side for about 2 additional minutes.
  4. Divide the eggs among the tortillas crumble the bacon evenly over each tortillas Drizzle with maple syrup and garnish with the green onion.
  5. Sit back and enjoy the taste of the South!
