A few weeks ago, I was given a challenge to provide apple/pumpkin/bourbon fall dishes. I was not sure at first if I would be able to step up to the challenge. Then I remembered, I like challenges! I can do this!
I started slicing and dicing (throwing out and starting over) and finally came up with a few recipes that I think you will like. As always, I looked to my fall garden, went to a nearby orchard, and visited Marker’s Mark for inspiration (and to buy the hooch) and am ready to bring you a month of mouth-watering fall dishes just in time for the holidays.
Throughout the month of October, I will be introducing you to three amazing home chefs. I am honored to be sharing my posts with some of the most talented individuals I have had the pleasure of meeting online. They are my inspiration and the measuring stick I hold myself up to.
Each one will bring their unique style and talents: beautiful desserts, unbelievably creative dishes, and phenomenal presentations. I cannot thank them enough for giving me their time and sharing their recipes with us here on The Wacky Spoon! Please take a moment to check out their sites. I know you will fall in love with them as I have.
And the guests are:
Give it Some Thyme:
Kim concentrates on approachable, crowd-pleasing, recipes for the everyday home chef where classic meets contemporary. She is self-taught and finds her inspiration in food magazines, cookbooks, and three generations of recipe binders. I first came across Kim on Instagram and her colorful, beautifully plated dishes caught my attention immediately. She uses fresh seasonal ingredients that will have your mouth watering.
Tiny Kitchen Capers:
Lisa creates easy, delicious recipes that offer up big flavor in a tiny kitchen. She believes good food is all about the ingredients and has moved away from processed shortcuts. I was drawn to Lisa right from the start as we share the same belief: Less processed, More DIY. Every single recipe is offered up in delicious pics, easy to follow instructions, and will leave you wanting more! Oh, and she just happens to be a former Pillsbury Bake-Off finalist which you can find here: Gooey Caramel Pull-Aparts
My Lover’s Kitchen:
My Lover’s Kitchen is a dynamic duo that offers food on steroids. They are an Instagram favorite of mine and with or 7,000 followers I am not alone. I wait in anticipation for new posts like a child on Christmas morning waiting to see what deliciousness they will be serving up. Every post has earned a big red heart from me! If you have not already, check out their account. The pics are stunning and colorful. It’s that account that you know is, and always will be, better than your own and you’re okay with that. They are that good. Check them out!
