I’m Baaccck!

So, what have I been up to?

Catering Showers…

I catered a wedding shower for a room filled with beautiful women celebrating in a way only women can; with generosity, kindness, and unconditional love. No mean girls in this bunch. Just beautiful, strong, supportive women celebrating with the bride-to-be and making memories.

Filling Orders…

I am excited to announce that our new steak seasoning is being featured in the June 2019 summer crate from Cultivate Central Illinois. I am so proud to be a part of this awesome list of women. Cultivate Central Illinois features products that are handmade and homegrown in Central Illinois. The businesses they feature are owned and operated by women. Read More.

Building Stuff…

A big part of sustainable living is a โ€˜nothing goes to wasteโ€™ philosophy. A few weeks ago, we lost one of our oldest and biggest oak trees and then a few days later another storm rolled in and we lost a cedar. To see these mighty trees fall was heart wrenching.

Yet, out of tragic comes beauty. I have an upcoming wedding that I am catering and I decided to make a cake stand out of the cedar. Made with the couple’s vast record collection in mind, after the wedding the box can be turned upside-down and become storage for albums. But more about that in a few weeks.

Finishing Greenhouses…

I don’t know how it happens, but time just starts slipping away. All of a sudden I had several projects started with deadlines approaching. Hence, the time-off. I had to get caught up. One of the projects I can now check off my “to-do” list. The greenhouse is completed. Stay tuned for the final reveal.

Change is Coming!

I have decided to do something completely unheard of in the world today, I am unplugging. I realized I was spending too much time on other social sites liking, commenting, replying, and depleting my resources. I was not spending enough time here on my own product.

I realize I am closing slamming the door on becoming a social influencer and to that I say, hallelujah! That had never been my intent. My goal has always been to share my recipes and my passion for sustainable living, and I can do that best right here on this platform. By turning off other social media I can concentrate on the things I love. One of those things is YOU! If you followed me on Instagram, follow me here.

Spreading Out

Lastly, I moved the market from The Wacky Spoon and gave it it’s own legs. I felt the market was getting lost in all the dirty dishes from cooking. It now has its own voice and platform. Go forth grasshopper and make me proud. Check it out!

Expect new recipes starting Monday!

  1. Wooohoo!!!

You are one busy mama! But the best kind of busy, where you’re following the heart and soul of your gifts and talents and finding all the many places it can take you. Good for you. And for all of us.

    Peace and good food.

    1. You are the best, BigMac!

For me, busy is the best way to live. I’m not good at being idle – devil’s hands and all that. Really, I wish everyone to follow their hearts and dreams. I spent years in the corporate finance world climbing up that ladder and when I got there I realized I was not happy. So here I am following my passions and loving every minute of it.

      Peace and friendship.

  2. I am so happy you are back! I am looking forward to your next recipe. And, I love the new spice line website. How exciting !

  3. Welcome back~! Quite a busy “break” you had there! Did you get any sleep/battery recharging done at all? ๐Ÿ˜€ Congratulations on all your successfully completed projects! The greenhouse looks fantastic – as does the cake/record box! I wish I could have had the chance to do something like that when the walnut tree towering over my grandma’s house went… Anyways, looking forward to reading all about it ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. LOL…nope, none! But, checking things off my list makes me happy so it was a great recharge.

Yes, that is a huge part of it, knowing the history of the tree will live on in another form. It’s so heart wrenching to see these magnificent trees laying broken on the ground.

Thanks for the kind words. I’m so glad to be back!
